Page 1 next page >> The deadlines for scholarships are coming on fast: so now is the time to apply for scholarships. But where do you start looking for scholarships? Here are ten places where you can find financial aid in your neighborhood. 1) Talk to your guidance counselor. They keep up-to-date on what is out there and they are there to help you. 2) Look for scholarships on our “Scholarship Hunt” search engine: you’ll find scholarships in your area or at the schools you would like to attend. When you find the scholarships that interest you, look them up on Google. 3) When you find a scholarship or bursary, contact the school or business offering the award and ask about their scholarship program. You may find that they have new scholarships that are not yet listed on the internet. 4) If you know which universities or colleges you want to attend, look them up on the web and contact their financial aid department. The financial aid department will be able to tell you what scholarships are available, and which scholarships require you to submit an application. 5) Check with your parent(s): many companies offer scholarships or bursaries to the children of their employees. 6) Many unions and professional organizations offer scholarships. Use your town’s business directory and the internet to look for financial aid offered by these groups. 7) Some companies even offer scholarships to any student in the community, so call the Human Resources offices of large local businesses. 8) Check with your town government.
